We started Crumb because we were frustrated. Frustrated with POS systems that crashed during the dinner rush. Frustrated with support teams that didn't understand restaurants. Frustrated with technology that made simple things complicated.

Our story

Crumb started in 2019 when our founder Sarah was running a café in San Francisco. Every POS system she tried failed her in some way—crashing during rushes, requiring constant workarounds, or demanding expensive support contracts just to answer basic questions.

She teamed up with Marcus, an engineer who had built payment systems at Stripe, and they set out to create something better. Not just incrementally better, but fundamentally different.

Today, Crumb powers over 10,000 restaurants across the country. But we still run it like we're building for Sarah's café—focused on reliability, simplicity, and actually understanding what restaurant operators need.
